This fun and information rich course will provide actors, improvisors and comedians with a more grounded, holistic and actor based approach to long form improvisation than is taught anywhere else. It will forever change the way you look at improv and comedy writing, even if you’ve already been doing it for years.

We’ll highlight and experiment with the core principles of the various styles of long form improvisation and their different uses; identify and help you unlearn incorrect techniques that are likely holding you back; and will spend a lot of time improvising and perfecting scene work.

Whatever your skill level or experience, you will definitely learn stuff not taught or understood elsewhere and you’ll have a lot of fun in the process. There will also be the potential for forming an ongoing performance troupe once the course is completed.

The class size is small by design, and the content will be customised depending on the experience and needs of the participants. A minimum level of improvisation experience equivalent to Impro Australia’s level 3 or a year of acting experience is required, as well as a maximum limit of about 8 years improv experience, but contact us if unsure. Regardless of your experience, this course will still change your approach to long form improvisation.

This course dives deep into long form improv techniques, covers an extensive amount of material, and focuses on the more actor relevant Chicago style which is not properly taught in Australia.
